FATHER’S DAY TIE CARD

MATH
Design a tie card for a famous mathematician and incorporate an artistic element denoting his contribution. For example Leonardo of Pisa is famous for using the Fibonacci code, try adding art using an example of a sea shell to depict the spiraling out effect found in nature.

HISTORY
Father’s Day is celebrated in the US on the 3rd Monday of June. Try designing a tie card that would have been fashionable during a specific period in time.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Ronald Dahl became a prominent author penning many fun stories for children, try designing a tie card using a scene from one of his stories. Spend some time together reading one of his books and use the card as a bookmark.

SCIENCE
Try designing a tie card that depicts the accomplishments of a famous scientist, for example Galileo and fill the tie card with stars and planets. Try using different materials like chalk and puffy paint to add depth to your design.

EXTENSION
Try making a tie card out of recycled items, like gluing cut up old t-shirts or even old ties or material from other material on the card. Enhance the look by sewing or gluing on buttons or items of special meaning , like a bottle cap from a favorite soda bottle. Try taking a picture of your self and adding it to the card.
